GardenFest 2009

The Mission of Gardenfest Coral Springs is to provide the serious and occasional gardener an opportunity to experience a wide variety of beautiful orchids, many native plants, unusual ferns, wonderful roses, palms, fruit trees, succulents, herbs and many other plants that are just waiting for you to take home. In addition to plants, we also have vendors that will feature lovely pottery, fountains and unusual art to enhance your garden.  Experts, including Master Gardeners, Wildlife Habitat Stewards and Nursery Growers will be available to provide advice on any garden problem you may have.  **** Proceeds from Gardenfest fund scholarships for students majoring in environmental and horticultural sciences at a Florida College/ University and community projects of The Garden Club of Coral Springs, Inc. a non profit, all volunteer organization with an IRS designation of 501 C(3).

Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 – 9 am to 5 p.m.

Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 – 10 am to 4 p.m.

FREE ADMISSION ~ FREE PARKING

During the event weekend there will be a delicious “Farmers Market” with locally grown Florida produce,  youth activities and food vendors offering a wide variety of choices.  In another area local experts will present “Ask the Experts” sharing their knowledge and answering questions.

Battle of the Tomatoes….Join us on Saturday, February 16 for a celebration of the locally-grown Florida tomato!  Bring your entries to the Garden Club tent between 9:am and 12 noon and complete a registration form for entry to qualify.  First prize ($50 gift card) and second prize ($25 gift card) for two categories: Best Quality Tomato and Largest Tomato.  Judging begins at noon! Must be present to win.  Start growing your vegetable garden today!

Note:  you don’t need to have a vegetable garden to grow tomatoes.  They grow well in containers on your porch or patio, providing the benefits of reduced weeds and fewer insect challenges.

Take Atlantic Blvd. exit. Head east on Atlantic Blvd. At 2nd traffic light (Coral Ridge Drive) turn right (south) for about .5 miles. Riverside Park is on the left between Riverside Drive and Southgate Blvd.

Directions from I-95:
Take Atlantic Blvd. west approximately 9 miles to Coral Ridge Drive. Turn left (south). Continue for about .5 miles. Riverside Park is on the left between Riverside Drive and Southgate. Blvd.
